Our mission at Clink. Cheers. Celebrate. is to help and inspire those with a desire to host, making it easier to focus on family and friends during your parties. But let’s be honest, sometimes there are factors outside of your desire to host that stop you in your tracks – like your budget. Planning and hosting a party can be time-consuming and expensive, and this can make us all hesitant. Well we are here to fix that! Keep reading to learn 5 different ways you can host with ease (and without breaking the bank).

1. Use What You Already Have

This may seem like an obvious one, but we understand that it can be so tempting to run to the store in a panic the day before your party and buy items you might regret the next day. One super easy way to avoid this is to use the items you already have at home!

Below is a quick list of some ideas to re-purpose some decor you might have laying around:

  • If you plan to set out food or bring attention to a table in your home, consider using any table cloths, table runners, or even pieces of fabric you have as a base to add texture and depth.
  • Showcase pieces of decor around your home as centerpieces, such a vases, plants, or candles.
  • You can use picture frames around the home to showcase people integral to the purpose of your event, like the birthday girl or boy, or use them to highlight your table decor with customizable prints, like our Minimalist Party Signs. All you need is paper, a printer, and access to the web to customize these templates from the comfort of your couch.

2. Don’t Underestimate the Power of a Good Candle

Sometimes it’s not just a tight budget that keeps us hesitant to host, but also a lack of time. One quick way you can warm up any space is to invest in a good-smelling candle for your home. Candles come in all price ranges, and all price points have candles that smell amazing and can make any room feel complete.

You can tailor your choice of candle with the kind of aesthetic you want to convey – fresh linen scent for a clean, crisp feel. Sandalwood to convey a little bit of mood and coziness. Fruity-citrus scents can liven up any summer get-together. The list is endless!

3. Consider Alternatives to Serving a Meal

The cost of putting together a meal for your guests can be the biggest expense for your party, so any way you can cut back in this department will help your bottom line.

One suggestion we have is to consider letting guests know you will only serve light appetizers and snacks at your party. Letting them know upfront, like including it on the invite or in your invite text, won’t leave your guests surprised at the light fare, and will save you big bucks.

Another suggestion is to turn your party into a potluck, and enlist the help of your friends and family! We recommend if you do this to assess the type of event and guest list first, and make sure it makes sense. Also consider handling the main dish as host, and allow friends and family to brings sides and drinks.

4. Strategically Pick the Time of Your Party

Along the same lines as #3, strategically picking the time of your party can save you from having to worry about hungry guests. Consider a time in the afternoon in between lunch and dinner, like 2pm, or a little bit later in the evening, like 6:30pm. This gives guests some time to eat a meal before coming, allowing you to just set out appetizers and snacks, or even nothing at all!

5. Bring Your Own (Alcoholic) Beverages

Let guests know to B.Y.O.B. on the invite, or invite text. The cost of alcohol for a party can get expensive fast, so consider skipping this and letting guests bring their own if they want it.

Now you have 5 tricks up your sleeve to take the stress out of hosting! Whether it’s your one-year-old’s birthday party, your child’s graduation party, or the best memorial day BBQ – we have your back, so you can enjoy this precious time with your family and friends.

Cheers!
